West Papua -MSG Membership Campaign

Over the years Free West Papua Campaign, have struggle in many ways to push their way to be a member in the Melanesian Spearhead Group -MSG.
For the first time in many years, West Papua is able to speak in ONE VOICE at the 2015 MSG Summit.
This is evident after the disappointing outcome of West Papua's membership bid in 2012 MSG (New Caledonia). In June 2013, after MSG Foreign Ministers visit to Papua, Peter O'Neil concluded in EMTV  News that West Papua must have a "unified and representative body".
In response, December 2014, Papuan leaders from various political groups converge in Vanuatu and establish United Liberation Movement for West Papua -ULMWP, a 'coordinating body' to speak in One Voice for the aspiration of the people of West Papua.
This is evident through the backing of NGO groups in the region. Pacific Council of Churches (PCC) and Pacific Island Association of Non-Governmental Organisation (PIANGO) are very instrumental in making this possible through direct intense lobby with various regional governments.
It is through ULMWP and the unconditional Support of Various NGOs & Civil Society Groups, few Governments & Ministers and most importantly citizens from all Countries in the region have result we have witnessed West Papua's successful inclusion at MSG in June 2015.
